How is this procedure different than other non-surgical skin tightening procedures?
Ultra-Lift is the only skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound for non-invasive skin sculpting. The ability to use such a trusted technology to treat only the most relevant and responsive tissue helps ensure both safe and satisfying results.
Ulthera is approved by the extremely rigorous FDA. Numerous clinical studies have been undertaken into its effectiveness.
Its use of micro-focused ultrasound means that just one session is necessary. Ultrasound, which has long been used for ultrasound scans, and is well-known for its safety, stimulates skin regeneration with deep action, but does not damage the skin’s surface.
Ultrasound acts at a deep level, its pulses converging on a single point, where concentrated energy leads to tissue coagulation.
What does it feel like?
Comfort levels vary from person to person, but it is unlikely you will need pain medication during the procedure.
Many patients describe the sensation as momentary prickling orheatbeneath the skin. This is the ultrasound energy being delivered into the tissue, which is how Ultra-Lift lifts and tightens the skin.
Ulthera’s effects are progressive, taking around 3 months : this time is needed for new collagen to be generated.
Uses of ultherapy
Ulthera can be used as an excellent alternative to surgical face lifts or to blepharoplasty, providing prior medical consultation has been carried out. It can be used to : – Raise the eyebrow tail and falling eyelids: this is the same effect as in blepharoplasty. – Reduce double chins, whether due to sagging skin or to fatty excess. – Diminish jowls. – On the body : tighten looseness on the décolletage, neck and arms. – Treat any sagging to the facial oval: it restores tension and redefines the facial oval.
What happens during the Ultherapy session
No prior preparation is needed. Local anesthetic is not used as it can react to the ultrasound, and lead to burning.
After disinfecting the face, and marking the zones to be treated, ultrasound gel is applied to the skin.
A probe is placed on the skin, allowing the patient/doctor to see an on-screen ultrasound scan of the skin: the doctor will use this to determine the correct depth of treatment.
This probe is also a transducer which delivers the pulses, experienced by the patient as the quick snap of an elastic band. Treatment patterns are adapted to each facial shape.
What can I expect afterwards?
You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear in a matter of hours.

I personally see every new patient who visits our office. I am not just a physician, I am a Board Certified Dermatologist. My goal is, quite simply, to provide the type of dermatology care which I would seek for my own family. This is a very important point, since physicians often use the phrase "Doctor's Doctor" to refer to those individuals who typically are selected by physicians themselves for personal care. I am confident that my practice fully meets that definition. This is the type of 5-star care and service that our patients expect, deserve and receive. I treat every patient the way I would want to be treated: with courtesy, dignity and respect. I carefully listen to their hair and skin-care concerns and offer a variety of options including a treatment plan that I believe will give them the best results
