          Fraxel Treatments

Fraxel has three laser treatments, all delivering remarkable results with fast recovery.

The range of Fraxel treatments vary in aggressiveness, downtime, number of procedures needed and results. The most aggressive treatment, Fraxel re:pair, can produce significant improvement for severe damaged skin.

This is a one time treatment procedure, but will require more downtime and after treatment wound care. Less aggressive treatments, like Fraxel re:store or Fraxel re:fine, can produce significant results for mild to moderately damaged skin over the course of 3 - 6 treatments. Typically, there is no after treatment wound care with these treatments and downtime is minimal .

Fraxel re:fine® treatment—for prevention and maintenance

The most gentle option, Fraxel re:fine treatment is a cosmetic procedure that treats minor skin damage, preventing the signs of aging so you can maintain a youthful look. What it treats: fine lines around the eyes, age spots/sunspots, pigment irregularities and uneven skin tone. Downtime: Minimal. *Most return to routine activities the very same day.

Fraxel re:store® treatment—for mild to severe skin damage
The most popular Fraxel treatment, Fraxel re:store treatment can resurface damaged skin and uncover the skin of your youth—all with minimal impact on your daily routine. What it treats: wrinkles around the eyes, acne scars, surgical scars, age spots/sunspots, melasma and Actinic Keratoses. Downtime: Most return to regular activities within a day or two
.

Fraxel re:pair® treatment—surgery-like results for the most severe skin damage
The most recent Fraxel procecure, Fraxel re:pair treatment can give similar results to a facelift. The treatment tightens skin and corrects severe damage. What it treats: wrinkles, irregular texture, age spots/sunspots, sun-induced redness. Downtime: Most return to routine activities after a week.

Laser surgery may not be the best treatment for your skin condition  There are many alternative treatments for most skin conditions. You may need several laser treatments to realize the best result.

Every patient's skin responds differently to laser treatment from darker skin to paler skin, If you're interested in laser treatment, find a doctor who is familiar with the treatment of your skin type who has the skill  to treat the problems of all skin types.

Even then, lasers may not successfully treat all conditions. Potential side effects of laser treatment include scarring, loss of pigmentation and pain. In addition, there is a higher risk that laser surgery patients are more prone to outbreaks of herpes simplex, also known as cold sores or fever blisters, immediately following a laser treatment.

As an expert in the field of dermatology and cosmetic dermatologic surgery, Dr. Rothfeld is has appeared on national television shows. Dr. Rothfeld has also been quoted in many high profile national magazines.

Dr Gary sees every patient himself and  believes in personalized care. The Doctor does not employ any physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or other physician substitutes to do his treatment. He sees every patient himself at every visit.

A significant percentage of my  Dermatology Conditions are diagnosed  on listening to medical history of the patient alone, a further percentage on examination and the remainder on further investigation and my patients teach me the rest. It is clear to me that history and examination skills remain at the very core of my dermatology practice. Older Dermatologists like myself rely on history and physical to a greater degree than the younger dermatologists.  I think that the pendulum has swung too far towards all these cosmetic procedures where the younger dermatologists are just doing cosmetic procedures and not listening to their patients.  This is an important point because if the Dermatologist does not spend enough time with the patient the cosmetic procedures will not work.

It is vital to undergo a full pre assessment to ensure that your skin type is fully assessed and to be  accurate about your medical history. This particular procedure might not be the right treatment for you.  It is crucial that the Doctor does a full History and Physical Examination and listens to your concerns.  It very important to understand the individual needs of each patient because one procedure could work on one patient and then not another.

Each patient’s condition is carefully evaluated and the best treatment(s) is chosen to ensure an optimal outcome. Treatments are performed by Dr. Gary who has extensive cosmetic dermatology experience and training. This allows the Doctor to offer top-quality services in every area of the cosmetic dermatology field, while ensuring patients safety and satisfaction.
